Book Review: In My Shoes by Brenda Hampton

Brenda Hampton, along with her sisters, Jesse and Rita grew up in a dysfunctional household that was built on love…and violence. Their mother did the best she could to provide for her daughters, while their father struggled with inner demons. Through it all, the girls managed to keep their head up and go after the things in life that wanted.
Becoming a teenaged mom of twin daughters, Brenda was determined to give them a decent life,by any means necessary…public assistance, scheming and shoplifting. Tired of an abusive relationship and getting caught one too many times resulted in Brenda turning her life around and becoming a successful business woman and eventually…well known author.

This book is one I would love to put in the hands of any young woman who is having a hard time in life, because it proves that a little hard work and ambition will carry you far. My hat is off to the beautiful @brendahampton_1, for her transparency, a woman I’m proud to call a friend.

If you haven’t read it yet, I would encourage you to do so. I wish I could give it more than 💎💎💎💎💎, because it certainly deserves it.
